story English country. brown brick. Slate roof. Steep
hip roof; two dormers w/shed roofs and shuttered openings.
Massive front chimney of stone and decorative brickwork
w/multiple pots on recessed left wing. Pagoda roofed entry
portico w/wood spindles. Large stained glass stair window.
Diamond shaped panes in main floor windows. Recesses two
story porte cochere on right w/brackets and herringbone
brick pattern. |

This
home was built for Nina Bell, the daughter of Rufus Higginbotham,
and her husband, Offa S. Boggess, a banker. Later it was
the home of Ray and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson, who
were married in the house in 1978. The exterior was used
to introduce scenes of Sue Ellen Ewing in her parent's
home in the popular television series "Dallas." |
