story 4-Square/Prairie w/Georgian details. Tan brick.
Composition roof. Hip roof; triple dormer window w/hip
roof; paired brackets and expose rafters. Recessed entry;
Georgian door surround w/broken triangular pediment. Raised
full width open terrace w/corbeled brick wall. Urns. Recessed
two story wing at left (open porch on first floor). Recessed
two story porte cochere on right. |

Fred Lege, Jr. was a pioneer in the oil and gas industry.
He became the first president of Magnolia Oil Company
in 1924. In the 1930s Hal Thompson, architect of several
homes on Swiss Avenue, remodeled the interior of this
house in the Art Deco style that was popular at the time.
The home was the first in Dallas to have air conditioning
installed in August 1959. |
