Slate roof. Low hip roof w/wide triple window dormer;
iron rail; exposed rafters. Projecting pavilion; heavy
entry porch of brick w/arched openings; parapet w/stone
balustrade. Twisted column between banked first floor
windows. open raised terrace w/iron rail to left of entry
porch. Recessed one story wing on left w/arched windows;
second floor porch w/awning. Curved wing wall on right
w/arched gate opening. |

This home was first occupied by Dr. J.H. Cristler and later
by his daughter, Edna, and her husband, J. Woodall
Rodgers, Dallas' mayor from 1939 to 1947. While owned
by Norman Cook from 1969 until 1973, this residence
served as a home for unwed mothers. |
